Writing is more than simply getting some words on paper. It’s about sharing a story that “speaks” to someone else, whether that translates into a moment of entertainment, providing a catharsis, or provoking thought. Communicating ideas is a privilege, and it is the writer who gets to do that privileged work. Getting to communicate about writing with Alfred in “Two Voices” is fun and interesting work – to be able to compare and connect what we do as solo writers, how we tackle this thing called writing, and contrast that between a male/female perspective – allows us to find our commonalities in the expression of our art. As a writer, Anh focuses on poetry and novels.
Writer’s Bio: Alfred Brown

Alfred Brown is an accomplished writer, but his accomplishments are only somewhat related to writing. And, really, even those accomplishments are not really worth mentioning. A better description would be he is a prolific writer. He has written plays, screenplays, teleplays, sketches, jokes, poems, short stories, compendiums, vignettes, … Actually, it would be pretty much easier to list what he hasn’t writtn. He has never written a novel. Or an ethnographic tour book or an apothecary guide, but a novel is something he’d be more interested in writing.
He was born sometime near the end of the 20th century. Not so close to say near the cusp of the 21st, but not so far as to say smack dab, or dabsabout, the middle of the 20th. He has an undergraduate in Film (which he is doing very little with) and a graduate degree in Writing (which pretty much helped him get a job in something somewhat related, but otherwise not really doing much with). Does not have an overgraduate degree. He, as of the time of writing, has a girlfriend whom he sees often, and a cat who he doesn’t, as he lives in a studio apartment with the girlfriend and the girlfriend is fairly allergic to cats. But, if they ever get a larger residence, cats aren’t off the table—well, they wouldn’t be allowed on the table, but they’d at least be allowed in the place. So the cat has been staying with his parents.
He has had a few jobs over the years, they come and go, some are extremely short in duration, others last for a handful of years. Kind of like romantic relationships. And like romantic relationships, there have also been very long swaths of time without anything happening at all with anyone. Throughout it, he writes. He also makes/enjoys music and art and practices yoga.
That’s pretty much it, oh, and he’s about 6 foot 2, wears medium-tall or small-tall shirts, which are hard to find (small-talls especially). Slim fit rarely works, though, as that is usually better for people with broader shoulders. Above is a quick selfie of me at my desk wearing a small-tall shirt.
